1) Summary (Plain English)
- We process: PDF and document files you upload, solely to perform the operation you selected (merge, split, compress, convert, etc.).
- We never save your files. Files are deleted from our server the moment you download the result. If not downloaded, they are automatically purged after 30 minutes. No backups, no logs, no copies.
- We collect anonymously: crash reports and usage analytics via Firebase to help us fix bugs and improve the app.
- No account required. We never collect your name, email, or any personal information to use the app.
- We do not sell your data and do not use your files for advertising or training.
2) What We Collect
2.1 Files You Upload
- PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, or HTML files you choose to process.
- Files are uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server.
- Files are deleted automatically after you download the result, or after 30 minutes — whichever comes first.
- We do not read, copy, or analyse file content except to perform the specific tool you requested.
2.2 Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
- Device model and Android version
- App version
- Stack trace of the crash
- No personal data, no file content, no user identity
2.3 Anonymous Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
- Which tools are used (e.g. "Merge PDF tapped") — no file content
- App session duration
- Device type and OS version (aggregated)
- All data is anonymised and aggregated — we cannot identify individual users
2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information
- Your location
- Your browsing history or activity in other apps
- Payment information (the app is free)
- Your contacts, camera, or microphone (beyond Scan to PDF, which only activates when you open that tool)
3) How We Use Data
- File processing: to perform the PDF operation you requested and return the result to your device.
- Crash reporting: to detect and fix bugs that cause the app to crash.
- Analytics: to understand which tools are used most so we can improve the app.
We do not use any data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
4) Third-Party Services
4.1 Firebase (Google)
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google LLC. These services collect anonymous crash and usage data as described above. See Firebase Privacy.
5) Storage, Retention, and Deletion
- Uploaded files: deleted from server immediately after download, or after 30 minutes maximum.
- Processed result files: same — deleted after client download or 30-minute TTL.
- Crash reports: retained by Firebase for 90 days per Firebase's standard policy.
- Analytics: aggregated, anonymised — retained per Firebase Analytics standard policy.
- On-device: the app stores only your theme preference (light/dark/system) locally on your device. No files or personal data are stored on-device by the app.
6) Data Sharing
We do not sell data. We share data only as follows:
- Google Firebase: anonymous crash and analytics data as described above.
7) Children's Privacy
Pocket PDF is a general productivity tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8) Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal information tied to your identity, most standard data rights (access, correction, deletion) do not apply in the traditional sense. However:
- You can opt out of Firebase Analytics by disabling analytics in your device settings (Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation).
- You can uninstall the app to remove all locally stored preferences.

9) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
